Deep-Sea Whale

Deep-Sea Whale explores the resonance between the human soul and the unseen depths within. Through contemporary dance and aerial hoop, the work questions what modern life has taught us to forget—and what still waits in the silence below.

Deep-Sea Whale is an interdisciplinary performance exploring the encounter between the human soul and the unseen depths within.

In a world overwhelmed by speed, distraction, and surface-level connection, the work asks a simple but urgent question:

Have we forgotten how deep the human heart can be?

Through contemporary dance and aerial hoop, the piece follows a human descending beyond the shallow waves of modern life—into darkness, pressure, memory, and inner vibration.

There, in the silence of the deep sea, a whale appears.

Not as an animal, but as a presence—an ancient consciousness that recognizes what humanity has forgotten.

Through resonance, movement, and emotional dialogue, Deep-Sea Whale explores the possibility that understanding another being may be the first step toward remembering oneself.

Two acrobats perform on a suspended hoop within a metal frame, casting their shadows on the backdrop.

The person on the bottom is seated on the floor, holding a hoop with both hands, while the person on top is hanging upside down from a hanging apparatus, gripping a vertical pole with one hand and the apparatus with the other. Stage lighting highlights the scene, with a dark background and minimal decoration.
